Regent’s Careers & Business Relations department and the MSc Oil and Gas Trade Management team have been working closely with Oil & Gas UK, Imperial College London and UCL to form Next Generation.
We are excited to announce our first event, here on campus, which is an excellent opportunity for Regent’s University London students and alumni to be informed of the latest developments in the UK oil and gas sector and network with industry professionals and students of energy societies from other prestigious London universities.
Date: Thursday 1st May 2014
Time: 18:00 – 20:00
Location: Room A201, Acland Building, Regent’s University London.
The oil and gas industry, one of Britain’s greatest success stories, provides an exciting and varied career for 450,000 people in the UK. With a growing network of 14,000km of pipelines linking almost 300 oil and gas platforms, the demand for new talent – from project managers, traders to geophysicists – is constant.
Malcolm Webb, Chief Executive of Oil & Gas UK, will be speaking at the event. This is a great opportunity for those considering a career in the oil and gas sector to understand more about how the industry works.
You will hear from industry leaders, with presenters sharing their extensive, relevant experience in government, operator companies and the wider supply chain in an informal environment. You will also have the opportunity to learn from those carving out a successful career in the industry, and have the opportunity to build their professional network.
Oil and gas provides a secure and reliable source of energy for Britain – delivering around 70 per cent of the UK’s total primary energy needs; with indigenously produced oil and gas making up around 60 per cent of that demand. Oil & Gas UK looks forward to discussing the future of the industry with its next generation of leaders.
